Route of March for 2009
Route of March: A long march over rough ground, often used as training in physical endurance for soldiers. The calendar of meetings and events makes up First Colorado’s Route of March.
Meetings
We customarily meet on the third Sunday of each month for a drill and a meeting. The drill is always at 2 p.m.; the meeting is at 3 p.m. Meetings usually last about an hour.

The meeting dates are:
February 15th
March 14th (after the St. Patrick’s Day parade at the Cherokee Grill)
April 19th in Ft. Collins (http://www.fcgov.com/museum/)
May 17th at Four Mile
June 14th at Four Mile
July 4th at Four Mile
August 16th (This meeting will also probably coincide with the Ft. Laramie event [below]).
September 20th at Four Mile
October 18th at Four Mile
November 22nd at Four Mile
December 6th at the Ball (meeting is at the Ball). The Ball is usually at Auraria Campus. Detailed information TBA.
Events
Firm:
May 6th Historical education day in Aurora. We will be at the Delaney Farm Stand (www.auroramuseum.org/)
May 22-25th Ft. Larned, KS (http://www.nps.gov/fols/)
June 6th at the Idaho Springs 150th Parade. Time TBA
July 4th Four Mile; 9 A.M. to 4 p.m. (Note: Many of us will meet the night before on July 3rd for over-night camping at Four Mile.)
Tentative:
A camp of instruction (date TBA)
August mid-month at Ft. Laramie, WY.
Late September at the Lafayette Parade, date TBA
November 14th Veterans’ Day at Riverside or Fairmount cemeteries, TBA
